Philosophy: Female Nature

Sun Jul 5, 2009, 7:01 PM
One thing that's been buzzing around my mind for quite a while now has a little something to do with gender... Females in particular. I've always preferred women over men in nearly all aspects, including character design. As you've all seen, I have very few male characters, and even then, most of them are psychotic or evil...

I've always seen much more power in the female form... Not physical power, but emotional power. The female form is softer, gentler, for more nurturing than the male. At the same time, it is swift, agile, and strong in its passions.

Regardless, this isn't about the female form, it's about how I've come to believe that nature in its very essence is female. All things in this universe are naturally female, and the male aspect is nothing more than an extra.

Let's look at this scientifically, for a moment... The X chromosome is needed in both sexes, two in a woman and one in a man. What's the Y? The Y is instructions to make a penis... and that's about it. The Y chromosome takes what's already there and morphs it into a male. What is every living thing in the early stages of the fetus? Female. Before fully developing, all living creatures are inherently female in the womb, and it's only that extra little tidbit that makes it shift to male in later development.

Also, The X chromosome is needed to have a child. XX is female, XY morphs to male... YY...? Well... you'd get some nasty, phallic lump of flesh, more than likely... As such, all things MUST have the female aspect of them to even exist.

Another interesting point is the fact that the male aspect isn't even needed. I know, reproduction generally requires a male to fertilize, but there are some species that reproduce without the males at all. In fact, a species of desert lizard who's name escapes me at this moment has survived with NO males at all for quite a long time. There are no males, only females, which lay eggs that hatch unfertilized. While these children are technically genetic clones of the mother, it still proves that life does not need a male aspect to continue.

Going into a more futuristic approach to this, it wouldn't be too hard for humans to accomplish this by artificially fertilizing a woman's egg with another's genetic information, in effect allowing two women to have a biological child. All it takes is transferring the DNA from one woman's egg into an artificial sperm, which is then inseminated into the childbearing mother. Such things are quite possible...

Not so much for men... Because of their lack of a womb, any male/male child would need a woman to be birthed, and the possibility of the phallic monster blob (Y/Y child) would be relatively discouraging.

Genetics aside, it's the simple fact that the female has so much power... She creates life. She nurtures a child within her for nearly a year, before giving birth to another human being. Motherly compassion, and the sheer power of creating such a wonderful miracle, make the female far more divine in my eyes.

The male aspect of life is entirely unnecessary from what I see. They're born from the essence of a woman that has been warped to serve a different purpose. As it seems, the roles of male and female in this world are grotesquely backwards... If god made humans, Eve would have been first, for half of Adam's very being had to have come from her. Men take the power in this world because of their heightened physical strength, when in truth is is the woman who has the real power.

Men are made to punch things and carry sperm... both jobs which can be easily taken over by modern advancements, and even nature in the case of some animals, such as the aforementioned lizards. I don't mean to sound sexist... but in all honesty, the universe is female, the earth is female, nature is female, and god is female.

The term 'girls rule' is quite an understatement... :3
